A few dynamic and enthusiastic “seniors” who enjoyed playing friendly, convivial matches together decided, about 20 years ago, to create the “Seniors d’Arcachon”; these events were an immediate success and forthwith became dates not to be missed on the Arcachon Golf club’s calendar of competitions. The “Seniors d’Arcachon” are also proud to welcome players from neighbouring clubs. It is the occasion, for both lady and gentleman golfers of all levels, to discover the experience of competitions in which to participate is just as important as to win.
These competitions take place throughout the year, generally on the second Thursday of each month (excluding July and August), except if this date occurs during the school holidays (calendar and rules available from Reception). The tee-offs take place in shot-gun stableford formula at 9h30 a.m from October to March and at 9h00 in April, May, June and September. Each competition, which counts for the handicap, is classified in 3 series as well as a special series “Ladies’ best net”. Moreover, in June, on the occasion of the closing tournament of the season, a special classification ” Grande Finale” is also proclaimed, calculated from the scores of the 6 best cards obtained over the 10 yearly competitions. All the “Seniors d’Arcachon ” matches are concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere over a delicious lunch at the Club House restaurant during which the results are proclaimed and prizes awarded.
